Optelec Introduces the Compact 6 HD Speech

With the pocket-sized Compact 6 HD Speech, you can enjoy Speech on the go: just point the camera, capture the text and listen as the text is read aloud.

Optelec today introduced the Compact 6 HD Speech, a pocket-sized video magnifier with a 6-inch touch screen that reads printed text aloud. This handheld video magnifier combines the benefits of electronic magnification and Speech in a small and pocket-sized design that you can easily take with you and use at different locations. Users can read magnified text in high contrast colors and enjoy maximum overview on the large 6-inch touch screen, view objects and photos from a small distance, and listen to text as it is read aloud.

“Our customers wanted a product that doesn’t only magnify, but also reads text aloud and can be used on the go. The Compact 6 HD Speech does just that. It is our first pocket-sized video magnifier with Speech that can be used on the go. It recognizes and reads text in over 25 languages and can be used to read and magnify food packaging, tickets, letters and much more, ” says Ivar Illing, Optelec’s Vice President of Hardware Product Management. “The Compact 6 HD is a versatile product that is designed to meet the user’s needs. The touch screen buttons and functionality can be customized, so it can be tailored to one’s personal needs.”

The Compact 6 HD Speech is the latest addition to the Optelec Compact HD family of handheld video magnifiers. Additional information and technical specifications can be found at the product page.
